MetaScript is a program for converting graphical metafiles in theComputer Graphics Metafile (CGM) format, the ISO standard format forgraphical interchange, to the popular PostScript format for printing onlaser printers.MetaScript is a complete implementation of the CGM standard, includingall three standard encodings (binary, character, and clear text), and allCGM elements. It supports the translation of CALS-compliant (MIL-D-28)metafiles as well.MetaScript is available only as a command line interface program. It maybe invoked directly and interactively by users, as well as spawned fromscript files or executing programs. MetaScript can function as a"filter," taking input from either a file or "stdin," and writingPostScript to either a file or "stdout." So it can easily be installed asa metafile print spooling task to be spawned by applications.
